    Recruits; William Henry Earhart (correct spelling) is my Great great grandfather. He died in 1937, and before his passing he did an interview with a Mr. C.F. Bash 30-35. I have the article taken from the Huntington Press. Mr Earhart talks of his life and his time in the war. He spoke of General Thomas and his respect, “as fine a man that has ever lived”. If anyone is interested in a copy I’d be glad to send to you.

  2. John Smith Welch (not Welsh) is my GG Grandfather. He was born in Caton, Steuben County, NY and is buried in Greene County, Iowa. I have no proof, but I am trying to see if Thomas Welch/Welsh also of Buck Creek was his brother.
