You have William C. Myres, but I know his name was spelled Myers. How is it listed on the original muster sheet?

I also know that he was wounded and later lost his arm due to being shot and infection set in.

    Thanks-Serena

Thank you so very much for all the work to put this information together!! I have been searching for gggrandfather’s history, this site has been a real eye opener for what the Civil War required of these men. I have been brought to tears many times by the assorted letters written home by those indominatable men!! My ancestor is Jacob H. Sheets, he was in the 40th from the beginning to the end, so all the information I have read here has made me feel a little closer to him. Thank you once again for all you do!!
